try club med 2
it is fabulous
Hey guys, thanks up front.
I'm 20 years old and was wondering about the policy on Celebrity Cruise line for drinking. I am going to Alaska with my mom and dad, and was wondering if I'll be able to drink.
Their policy seems pretty explicit that you cannot drink unless you are 21, and parents cannot buy either. The catch is, they have a pointer that says if you embark from a country in which the drinking age is less (AKA Vancouver in Canada) your parents can sign a waiver (which my parents wouldn't have a problem doing). I am just wondering is that still applicable on Alaskan cruises because most of the ports of call are in the US?
Let me know, I don't want to go up there with my dad and look stupid if I ask for a waiver and get denied.
Thanks,
Neal
Ok, just to prevent confusion, I'm not talking about actually going up to the bartender and hoping he doesn't card me. It's more so, my parents sign the waiver to allow me to drink on board and I can not have to bitch with people.
On Celebrity you have to be 21 to drink and there is no waiver your parents can sign.
You will be given your keycard to your cabin and it will be a different color than those of 21 or older. The keycard is what you use to pay for your drinks on board. When you order a drink from a bar server, you give them the keycard and they ring it through the system and you sign the receipt. It is not being carded but works the same way.
Of course, if you look like you are 21, you can use your father's card and sign his name. Oh, you can't do that. Celebrity now has a digital photo of you taken at embarkation that is embedded in the card.
Well, enjoy the iced tea and soda.
I can't seem to find it anywhere online…

we are a honeymoon couple who want to do cruising for 7 days from barcelona to barcelona. can anyone help us in chosing the good cruise line?
My wife and I are both Travel Consultants, and cruise about 2-3 times a year - we have sailed on every major cruise line.
You will absolutely enjoy your cruise experience on either cruise line, however, having sailed on both so many times I can tell you some of the "touches" that like on Celebrity, but we found missing on Royal Caribbean.
- When first getting on-board a Celebrity ship, you are greeted by an officer, offered champagne, and escorted to your cabin by a white-gloved crew member who assists you with your carry-on luggage. Upon arrival in your cabin, you are given a quick orientation briefing. When boarding a Royal Caribbean ship, you're kind of on your own!
- We find the room service menu on RCCL to be extremely limited. No shrimp cocktails or cheese platters as on Celebrity.
- No shushi bar on RCCL. Celebrity has a shushi cafe every night.
- When returning to the ship from a shore excursion on Celebrity, you are greeted with cold towels, water or fruit juice. Not on RCCL.
- On Celebrity, shrimp cocktail and escargot are on the menu every night as a dinner appetizer - a shrimp cocktail was only available once during our last RCCL cruise, even when asked for!
RCCL tends to attract a younger and family oriented crowd, while Celebrity generally caters to a slightly older group of clients. It also appears to me that more people follow the dress codes on Celebrity than on RCCL (formal nights, semi-formal nights).
If you'll step back and take an overall look at Celebrity Cruise Line, you notice that they've won some pretty impressive awards:
- they won 6 of the top 10 positions in the Best Large Ship category
- won highest rated Premium Cruise Line
- took top 3 spots for Best Crew/Service
- won all 4 Best Food/Dining rankings
- top spot Best Cabins
You don't get to this position by offering a less than first-class product. I'm confident that once you experience Celebrity, you'll be spoiled. Other cruise lines just don't match-up to the levels of service, attention to detail, quality of food and overall cruise experience.
Enjoy your cruise - which ever way you deside to go. The beautiful thing here is that you can't make a "wrong" decision. Bon voyage and congratulations!
I am going on a cruise in March and I want to know what cruise line to choose! I have been on 2 other cruises both Carnival and enjoyed both very much! I just wanted to know if it was the best cruise line to travel on! Anyone had any experiences with Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity, Holland America?
Better question would be what ship. All cruise lines bend over backwards to make you happy. Each ship has a little different feel. Royal has lots to do but the ship I went on it was so crowded we had a hard time doing anything without waiting on line. boo. I like Holland America as did my son and niece. My suggestion is get a Travel Agent and ask them to assist you. They only make any money now booking cruises and you won't have to pay em anything the cruise lines do. So approach it as to where do you want to go. If it is the caribbean then pick some ports, pick some you want to avoid. I personally love St. Martin., I avoid the Bahamas (unless it is a cheep cruise) and Jamaica ( I don't get off the ship) That will help you widdle things down then go to cruisecritic.com and look at the particular ship an see what past passengers are saying. Whatever you choose if you go with the attitude that you are going to have a great time then you will. I love cruising and they literally have to kick me off at the end.
I go on a cruise with my boyfriend once a year, and this year we were thinking about trying Celebrity. We've already been on Carnival and Royal Carribbean. We heard Holland was more for an older crowd, so we don't want to try them. Any suggestions? - doesn't have to be about Celebrity. Thanks.
WE just did a 14 day Celebrity in May this year to the Baltic. I was somewhat disappointed. The ship was nice and the staff was great with service, but overall I didn't think it was any better than the many Royal Caribbean and Princess cruises we have done.
I would rate it about the same as Royal Caribbean.

Hello cruisers.
Just booked a Deluxe Ocean View Cabin on the Summit. On the diagrams I can not see any refrigerator in the little Room. (?!)
Also just noted they have no self-serve-laundry. How does that work? We are gonna be on it 14 days and my wife is worried about her underthings–she's a sweaty little thing.
Thanks.
Anytime we have been in a deluxe ocean view room there has been a refrigerator. The staff will provide you with bags to send your laundry out. You could always hand wash if you remember to take detergent. Have Fun….
You can cruise Celebrity from New York and New Jersey. This cruise line doesn't depart from Baltimore.
are they big? do you know where i can find a picture of them?
I have been on a Celebrity cruise on the Constellation and I thought the cabin was fantastic. You can look at the cabins on all of Celebrity's ships by going to their web home page:
http://www.celebritycruises.com/home.do;jsessionid=0000EghZIEHUdCAOuCElNU-ESbI:12hdebcnj
Then click on "PLAN A CRUISE"; then click on SHIPS and a list of the categories of their ships will pop up. Then you can select either still pictures of the virtual tour option to see a 360 view of the cabins on the ship. The size of each category of cabins is also shown on the web site when you select the details of a particular cruise. Its shown in sq ft.
